The Challenge: A vacant site with three deteriorating buildings, including the Grade II listed Manor House, built between 1790–93 for a local tea merchant. Protected trees surround the site, creating both a constraint and an opportunity for regeneration.
The Concept: Three house types accommodate different family needs, arranged around a series of shared courtyards. The Manor House is reimagined as a community hub, placing shared amenities at the heart of the development, while the protected trees form a landscaped edge.
The Result: A layered community of spaces, moving from private gardens to semi-private courtyards and finally to a central green shared by everyone.
