My Role: Design, drawings and construction. Measured survey; concept sketches; drawings; sourcing materials; building the canopy
The Concept: A lightweight timber canopy that takes its pitch from the gable of the house, so the new structure feels like part of the home rather than an add-on. It frames the seating area as an outdoor room, with dappled shade for daytime meals and evening barbecues.
The Result: Designed and built in summer 2023, the canopy turned an unused corner into the family’s favourite outdoor space.
