Dune Cabin, Amsterdam, Campsite Karnemelkplaats
Type: Hospitality / Micro-Lodging
Year: 2019 / 20
Status: Complete 2020
Practice: TheWayWeBuild
The Challenge: The brief was to set a permanent cabin within a quiet campsite of around 30 pitches, located on a former dairy farm and surrounded by a bird and nature reserve. The building needed to sit lightly within the landscape without disrupting the calm that draws guests to the site.
The Concept: A compact cabin for two, clad in ash timber to create a warm, natural retreat that weathers and blends into its rural surroundings.
